Woohoo!

I am finally finished! It took 9 years (including my maternity leave and leave of absence), but was well worth it. I guess that I should begin contemplating how to use this Ph.D. to my advantage while still being a stay-at-home mom… Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I will definitely have some more time on my hands now, and intend to add some more quality content in the near future (as soon as I get over my second head cold). I have been visiting sites and receiving traffic via Entrecard, and plan on writing more about this soon. Until then, I hope others checking out this blog are feeling better than I am!

Congratulations on wrapping things up for the PhD! Could you use that to teach some online courses now? My best friend’s wife teaches online courses for a traditional school and makes about $1800 per semester, per class. Might be something worth looking into, because she is able to do it from home.

    Frugal Dad,

This is definitely a great suggestion. I have taught online courses before, but it was with a for-profit institution, and things did not work out well. I really enjoy teaching and tutoring (more on this in the future), and would really like to continue down this path.

When I obtained the first teaching position with the for-profit institution, it was before I had my degree. I think that I am more marketable now, and plan on looking to see what is available both online as well as at some local community colleges.
