Is it possible to obtain financial freedom?

We’re about to find out! As an introduction, we are a family of 3 in our early thirties. We have a son, age 2, a lot of student loans and credit card debt (mostly from college as well as from when we first had our son), and are living on a single income. We do have a house, our cars are paid for, and we do have a start on retirement savings (all on our own). I have started this blog to document our journey to financial independence.

I have seen a lot of other financial blogs out there (many of which are really great!), but have not seen anything from a family with a stay-at-home mom. I am hoping that this blog will provide another perspective for people who are hoping to achieve the same goals as we are. I look forward to learning a lot, and interacting with others!

Looks like it can’t be done… What happened to this blog?

Not so fast, lazy man :) Actually, this blog used to reside at a different site while I was getting the feel for wordpress – now I am transferring it to a more appropriately-named domain so that I can play with the big kids. Please keep a tab on me over the next week or so while I get things situated, and let me know what you think! I love your blog, btw.

hi there! i like your blog. i believe it is possible to attain financial freedom. right now, I am starting my journey towards getting rich. My mentor said becoming rich is simple but definitely not easy. if that’s any consolation, there is still hope.

Thanks so much Allyanna! I agree that becoming rich is a conceptually simple thing to do, and I also agree that it is not easy. I think that becoming financially aware of one’s own situation as well as educating oneself is crucial. Learning from past mistakes also helps. I look forward to reading more of your posts on your blog, and wish you the best of luck on your financial journey!
