ok, ok! We are going to take it :)

@Matt - I totally understand what you mean about the point of a gift - it's just that this is a pretty expensive one! I have been talking to others, though, and it does seem like we really could make this into a fun family thing.

I guess I was hesitant at first b/c our family tends to not have the tv/video games on a lot.

@Kathy - I will thank her profusely; I just hate to admit that she is right sometimes - we do need to have a little more fun!

@Turnip - I would love to, except that we are 7 hours away! He is always invited, but doesn't really like to break out of his daily routine. We'll definitely play when we visit him, though!

In fact, my husband and my brother are always playing video games when we go to visit my family. I remember one time we went home and they played Dance Dance Revolution for hours. Don't let my husband know that I mentioned this, however!

Sounds pretty perfect to me...your mom wanted to do something special and unusual for you and she found something that your family would really enjoy. I say take it and thank her profusely! Have fun!

I think that the point of a gift is that you do not control what it is. Sure it may be nice to get what you wanted but if someone picks something out for an area that may be "lacking" in your life then why not give it a shot?

If you do not want to spend money picking up accessories and new games the Wii comes with Wii Sports which is a blast if you have other people to play with.
