About Me
Welcome!
I am a 32-year-old mom, wife, and now, blogger. I recently finished my doctoral work in biochemistry, and left the world of academia to raise a son who will be turning 3. Despite my apparent “career suicide”, I am pretty happy with my life, but there are always changes that can be made for the better.
First, we have a lot of debt. Both my husband and I accumulated student loan debt while in college, and I also used credit cards to finance my last year as an undergraduate. Luckily, that credit card debt is at a very low interest rate, but it is still debt!
Second, we are trying to keep our finances balanced. My husband has a dependable income, but since I work from home, my income fluctuates monthly. We have a budget, but are not getting rid of our debt as fast as we would like to.
Third, we are starting to consider the idea of homeschooling, so we are trying to plan for the long term financial picture where my income will be inconsistent (the original plan was to make it on one income until the kid went to school, at which time I would put my degree to work to get us out of debt quickly)
I enjoy sharing frugal ideas, my thoughts on raising kids, and ideas about finances in general. Thanks for stopping by!
